MIMS, the prescribing reference for general practice, seeks a talented and motivated associate editor to help put together the monthly guide.
Reporting to the Editor, the Associate Editor would be expected to:
Prepare/amend/review drug monographs for publication in MIMS and associated titles and for MIMS online. Prepare and review content for the clinical and product update sections at the front of MIMS. Prepare/edit/review or commission content for supplementary MIMS titles. Help develop and maintain online content including:
Adding/updating guidelines as necessary
Updating tables in line with MIMS
Reviewing patient fact sheets on a rolling basis
Reviewing content in Self Help directory and Links section annually
Produce email alerts for GPs, including writing and selecting new products and licence change stories for inclusion.
Write copy for sponsored email alerts in conjunction with clients and the advertising team when required.
Write copy for MIMS Product Announcements in conjunction with clients and the advertising team when required.
Source relevant information from other pharmaceutical and medical media and to remain up-to-date with medical and pharmaceutical developments.
Help develop new MIMS titles.
Assist on other projects within medical department when required.
Essential requirements:
You will have a degree in Pharmacology or Pharmacy.
You will be expected to communicate with suppliers, medical professionals and the pharmaceutical industry, so a high level of professionalism is expected.
You will work as part of a team of five editorial staff but will need to liaise with production and advertising staff within Haymarket Medical.
You will need to learn to input data onto the bespoke MIMS Content Management System.
You will have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Preferably basic knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver or be willing to learn.
